Change of Major
Q1. How do I change my major?
You must obtain a
Change
of Major Form and have the new department advisor
and the old department advisor sign the form. You will
then need to turn in the signed form to the Registrar's
Office.
Q2. Who are the advisors that will sign the Change of Major Form?
You must have the
Academic
Advisor in your new department and your old department
signs the Change of Major Form.
Q3. Are there restrictions I need to know about before I change my major?
Students have one 'free' change of major before he/she reaches 60 credit hours (including transfer credit hours.) After the one 'free' major change, schools can impose GPA requirements in order to change into their major.
Q4. What are the BME requirements to change my major?
All students who have more than 60 credit hours, or have previously used their 'free' change of major, must have at least a 2.8 GPA to transfer into BME.
