Pre-Med and Pre-health Information and Requirements
BME Academic Information
Students who want to be pre-health (medical, dental, pharmacological, etc.) in the Biomedical Engineering curriculum will take the same curriculum as all the other BME students, with the exception of the Chemistry. Students who are not pursuing a pre-health degree will take the following Chemistry classes:
CHEM 1310, General Chemistry (with lab), four credits
CHEM 1315, Survey of Organic Chemistry, three credits
CHEM 3511, Survey of Biochemistry, three credits
Students who are pursuing a pre-health degree will take the following Chemistry classes:
CHEM 1310, General Chemistry (with lab), four credits
CHEM 1311, Inorganic Chemistry, three credits
CHEM 1312, Inorganic Chemistry lab, one credit
CHEM 2311, Organic Chemistry I, three credits
CHEM 2312, Organic Chemistry II, three credits
CHEM 2380, Synthesis Lab for Organic, two credits
